- When I was at the health center, it was like a normal visit.

No appropriations to keep distance and the staff had not started to have protective equipment.

I think we all underestimated that beginning, says Emelie Vesto.

Today, many people are familiar with the classic symptoms of covid-19.

Among other things, that the sense of taste and smell are affected.

But when Emelie Vetso became ill in February 2020, knowledge about the virus was not as widespread.

She just lost taste and smell, but was never tested for covid-19.

Still, she's sure that was what she got.

- I have later met people with established corona infection without getting sick, so I guess I have antibodies, says Emelie Vesto.

Could not meet dad

Emelie was ill for about a month, but during the past year she, like everyone else, has had to change her life.

- The most difficult thing was that, due to the restraining order, I was not allowed to meet my cancer-sick father for a very long time.

It was heavy.

I should have gotten married this summer too, but it had to be canceled.

We do not know if we can have a wedding party this year either, but in that case we will get married anyway, she says.

In the video, you hear Emelie talk about what it was like to get covid-19 when few knew what we were dealing with for viruses.
