China News Service, Geneva, March 10. On March 10, Huang Ziqian, a young man from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, delivered a speech at the 46th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council as a representative of the United Nations Association of China, introducing the truth about the situation in Hong Kong.

Huang Ziqian said that he is a Hong Kong resident, and the accusations that Hong Kong human rights have rapidly deteriorated after the passage of the Hong Kong National Security Law are completely groundless.

The Hong Kong National Security Law does not target peaceful protesters and ordinary residents, but only targets a very small number of people who have committed crimes that seriously endanger national security.

The legal rights and freedoms of Hong Kong residents are fully protected by the Basic Law.

The human rights situation in Hong Kong is exactly the opposite of what critics have described.

Huang Ziqian said that the Human Rights Council should recognize two basic principles: one is that legislation to protect national security is the only way, not optional; the other is that it is not necessary to antagonize human rights and national security; the "independence" movement in Hong Kong is illegal, we strongly oppose.

A peaceful Hong Kong is not only in the interests of Hong Kong residents, but also in the common interests of the international community.
