China News Agency, Washington, March 9 (Reporter Sha Hanting) The US State Department announced on the 9th local time that the United States will ban two Iranian officials who "violate human rights" and their immediate family members from entering the United States.

This is the first time that Biden has imposed sanctions on Iran since he took office as US president.

US Secretary of State Blincoln issued a statement on the same day that the two Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard officials committed "serious violations of human rights" and therefore prohibited the two officials and their immediate family members from entering the United States.

Brinken also stated that the United States will consider any "appropriate means" to respond to "human rights violations" in Iran.

The United States will work with its allies to make "human rights violators" pay the price.

On the same day, 140 members of Congress from the Democratic and Republican parties sent a letter to Blincoln, requesting to reach a "perfect" agreement with Iran to solve various problems that Iran brings to regional security.

The letter said that the United States and its allies must adopt a combination of diplomacy and sanctions to deal with the Iran issue.

In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif posted on social media that the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement is a "perfect agreement."

Since Biden took office as President of the United States, he has expressed his willingness to reach a new agreement on the Iran issue.

However, the Biden administration believes that Iran should implement the Iran nuclear agreement before the U.S. lifts sanctions; Iran believes that the U.S. should lift sanctions on Iran first.

In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.

According to the agreement, Iran promised to limit its nuclear program and the international community lifted sanctions against Iran.

In May 2018, the US government unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, and subsequently restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.

Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of certain provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible."
