The pollen season is underway to the great sorrow of many allergy sufferers. And it gets sadder. The pollen season is predicted to be stronger and longer both this year and also in the years to come. - With a lot of heat in the spring and early summer of 2020, it will now be a strong year, says Åslög Dahl, researcher and head of the Pollen Laboratory at the University of Gothenburg.
The flowering of, among other things, hazel and alder occurs earlier and earlier, something that will be felt during the pollen seasons.
- During the 20th century, we have no notes at all of hazel before New Year, but now it has happened many times during the 2000s.
So something is happening, says researcher Åslög Dahl in Morgonstudion.
