"Lloyd Austin will meet in India with the Minister of Defense and other high-ranking officials responsible for national security issues," TASS reports.
As specified, the parties will discuss strengthening military partnership and promoting cooperation to ensure a "free, prosperous and open Indo-Pacific region."
Earlier, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that the leaders of the United States, India, Japan and Australia will hold video talks on March 12.
