The department noted that Twitter in the period from 2017 to the present does not remove content that induces minors to commit suicide, containing child pornography, as well as information about the use of drugs.
"The slowdown will be implemented on 100% of mobile devices and 50% of stationary devices," the Roskomnadzor said.
As of March 10, 3168 materials with prohibited information remain unremoved.
Earlier it became known that Roskomnadzor drew up protocols on an administrative offense in relation to social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Telegram messenger, as well as YouTube video hosting for failure to delete or untimely deletion of information that involved teenagers in participating in unauthorized promotions.
On March 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on law enforcement agencies to more actively identify in the network those who involve minors in illegal actions.
