The drama was tied on April 26, 2019. Morgane Rolland, 22 years old and former Miss Pays Stéphanois, had been fatally mown by a tractor while she was cycling with her companion, in Vauchette, a small village in the Loire.

Two years after this tragic accident, the driver of the machine was tried this week before the Saint-Etienne criminal court.

This Tuesday afternoon, the prosecutor requested against him a three-year prison sentence including two years suspended as well as the cancellation of his driving license, together with the ban on ironing it for two years, reports France Blue.

Speeding

The 33-year-old farmer was driving above the speed limit.

On the day of the accident, he was about to pass the young couple he was following when they moved away to avoid a car appearing on their right.

He could not avoid the young woman who passed under his wheels.

On the sidelines of the hearing, nearly 80 relatives of the victim gathered in front of the court to pay tribute to the young woman and participate in a white march in the streets of the city.

The court's decision has been reserved.

It will be returned on March 25.
