- It is not relevant for us (CUF) that the Center Party should sit in a Social Democratic-led government, says Ida Alterå.

She adds that of course it is good if the party can cooperate both to the right and the left, but to go from there to a joint government is a step too far.

- Our policy is very far from theirs (the Social Democrats').

"Ready to sit in government with both (M) and (S)"

In an interview with Expressen, Annie Lööf says that the Center Party will not be part of a new, bourgeois government as long as the Moderates are prepared to negotiate a budget with the Sweden Democrats.

- You can not negotiate a budget with the Center Party at the same time if you also negotiate a budget with the Sweden Democrats, she says.

Annie Lööf also states that the party aims to become a government party again after the election next year and that one can imagine government partners both on the right and left.

- We are prepared to sit in government with both Social Democrats and Moderates.

What guides us after the next election is about which center-right political areas we get through, how the other parties stand for cooperation with the fringes and the election result.

"We will go to the polls as a liberal force"

However, Ida Alterå believes that many center-right parties agree with her that an invitation to the Social Democrats is not a good strategy for the 2022 parliamentary elections.

- We will go to the polls as a liberal force and then try to have an impact on our policy, she says.

- It can be done in an opposition role and we should not be afraid of it if that is how the election turns out.
