Saarbrücken (dpa) - FSV Zwickau has taken the next step to remain in the 3rd soccer league.

The team of coach Joe Enochs won the catch-up game at 1. FC Saarbrücken on Wednesday 2-1 (0-0) and is now eleven points ahead of the relegation zone.

Morris Schröter (51st minute / penalty kick) and Ronny König (79th) scored the goals for the FSV.

Boné Uaferro (85th) scored for the hosts.

In stoppage time Saarbrücken's goalscorer saw the yellow-red card (90th + 1).

In the first half with few highlights, the hosts had better opportunities.

The ex-Zwickau Anthony Barylla came in the initial phase after a corner kick in the penalty area, the FSV goalkeeper Johannes Brinkies was able to parry (3rd).

With a strong reflex, the captain of the Saxons was there in the 21st minute after Minos Gouras had finished and prevented the deficit.

The Zwickau tactic of forcing the opponent to lose the ball through aggressive pressing worked for the first time shortly after the restart.

Manfred Starke captured the ball in the opposing penalty area against Steven Zellner, who then brought the FSV striker down with a bump.

Schröter confidently converted the penalty to 1-0 lead.

In the 79th minute, König increased to 2-0 after a brief corner and a pass from Schröter.

Saarbrücken was able to shorten through Uaferro in the final phase.

With a lot of passion, the Zwickauers defended their narrow lead right through to the finish.
