Sweden has crossed an important border, states SKR.

- Now we have passed a milestone.

There are 1,010,832 doses that are given even today, says Emma Spak, head of the health and medical care section.

She says that almost 700,000 people have received at least one dose.

This corresponds to 8.4 percent of those who are to be vaccinated and who have started their vaccination, she says.

Less than 30 percent

It is progressing, but it is going much slower than planned.

There is also no current information on deliveries to Sweden.

According to the forecast in December, when the agreement was signed, Sweden would have received 3.75 million doses by the end of February, Spak says.

- Until the end of February, the regions had received just under 1.1 million, ie less than 30 percent of what we thought we would get.

This means that over 70 percent of the vaccine, which according to the forecast would be delivered by the end of February, will only come later in the spring, SKR states on Wednesday.

Good coverage in nursing homes

In addition, vaccination is at different rates in the regions.

The distribution of vaccines also looks different.

It depends on the proportion of the population that is 70 years and older.

But all regions have good coverage for special housing.

As many as 91 percent have received their first dose, states SKR.

- The goal is for us to be ready by the end of the first half of the year with everyone who is 18 years and older and it is fixed.

The regions have the ability to vaccinate 1.2 million people from mid-April, says Emma Spak.

- You should feel very safe with these three vaccines.
