Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - 167 434 people in Hesse have now received a corona initial vaccination due to their professional activity.
According to the Interior Ministry, this includes doctors and medical staff as well as teachers, educators and police officers.
In addition to the normal registration option, Hessen will also be offering collective vaccination appointments for these professional groups in the coming weeks.
It is therefore assumed that the affected staff from primary, special and special needs schools and day-care centers as well as police officers can be offered a vaccination very quickly.
The number of vaccinations with the corona preparation from Astrazeneca is currently around 65,500 in Hesse, said a ministry spokesman.
According to the current Corona Vaccination Ordinance, people between the ages of 18 and 64 should be vaccinated with Astrazeneca if possible.

The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) has meanwhile also recommended Astrazeneca's remedy for people over 65 years of age.
Hesse adheres to the federal corona vaccination ordinance with these vaccinations, said the Interior Ministry.
It is assumed that the Stiko recommendation will be taken up soon.
As soon as the Corona Vaccination Ordinance has been amended, there will also be vaccination appointments in Hessen for citizens aged 65 and over with the Astrazeneca vaccine.
A vaccination recommendation for the corona preparation from Astrazeneca also for people aged 65 and over will bring greater flexibility in the planning and implementation of vaccinations, said the Ministry of the Interior.
Since the vaccines from Biontech and Moderna are still available in the vaccination centers in addition to the Astrazeneca vaccine, this does not lead to an additional shortage of vaccines.
In Hesse, the vaccinations for priority group two have been running since last week.
This includes predominantly those over 70 years of age.
People who have certain pre-existing conditions can also be vaccinated.
These include trisomy 21, dementia, cancer, some lung diseases, diabetes mellitus, liver cirrhosis, chronic kidney disease or obesity (people with a body mass index over 40).

Because of their profession, doctors, numerous nursing professions and, in some cases, police officers are also eligible for vaccination in this second group.
In addition, there are teachers at elementary and special schools as well as educators in daycare centers.
In Hesse, around 1.5 million people belong to the second priority group.
There are 28 vaccination centers nationwide.
