China News Service, March 10, according to "Central News Agency", in response to the assassination of the then Russian ambassador to Turkey Karlov a few years ago, a Turkish court sentenced five defendants to life imprisonment on the 9th.

  According to reports, in this case, the three defendants were convicted of "intent to overthrow the constitutional order" and "murder for the purpose of terrorism" and sentenced to two life imprisonment without parole; the other two defendants were convicted of "intent to overthrow the constitutional order". There is no parole for one life imprisonment everywhere.

  In addition to the five people sentenced to life imprisonment, another eight defendants in this case were convicted of "participating in an armed terrorist organization" and sentenced to 7 to 10 years in prison.

Six suspects were found not guilty.

  The defendant denied all the allegations and is expected to appeal.

  On December 19, 2016, Karlov, the then Russian ambassador to Turkey, was shot and killed while attending a photography exhibition in Ankara.

The murderer was a Turkish policeman Altentas posing as a security officer and was shot dead on the spot.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs classified the incident as a terrorist attack.
