place where the mother of Democratic Party Rep. Lee Won-young Yang purchased is the area around the 3rd New Town Development Zone, 66㎡ in Gahak-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
It was purchased in 2019, and more than 150 people have the same lot number.
Gahak-dong was designated as the 3rd new town, but the site was not included in the new town.
When the controversy arose, Rep. Yang Yi Won-young explained through the entrance door that she did not know that her mother owned a forest field nearby.
In addition, she explained that her mother was introduced as worth the investment from nearby acquaintances, and that she was able to invest together.
Rep. Yang said that she had decided to dispose of her mother's land, and added that she was sorry to the people.
Earlier, the Democratic Party decided to self-investigate the details of land transactions in the third new town of the party's elected officials and their families when suspicion of LH speculation arose.
Accordingly, the Party's Ethics Inspectorate has been required to voluntarily report the status of real estate holdings to lawmakers and assistants until today (10th).
