In detail, Bin Ghalita said that the center was able to settle 1,473 checks, valued at about 300 million dirhams, during the past year, stressing that the check-report settlement program solves major problems, as the accused in these reports are often not criminals in criminal cases, including merchants and owners. Businesses stumble for one reason or another, and when the notices issued against them are resolved amicably, they can resume their activities and continue their lives.
He added that one report against a merchant amounted to 100 million dirhams owed to a bank, but through the check settlement program, the center was able to reach a solution and a satisfactory payment line for both parties without the need to take escalatory measures or refer the file to the judiciary.
He explained that the importance of the program appears in the notices of non-payment that the center can settle, pointing out that reaching a solution in 1473 reports reflects the amount of effort exerted by the work team at the center, as their owners can turn into defendants if their problems are not resolved amicably with the whistleblowers.
