Weißenfels (dpa) - The basketball players from Syntainics MBC have taken another step on the way to staying in class.

The Weißenfels team won their home game against s.Oliver Würzburg on Tuesday with 85:73 (37:37) and as fifteenth they now have six points ahead of the first relegation place.

Michal Michalak (27), Anthony Barber and Sergio Kerusch (16 each) had the largest share in the seventh win of the season for the Central Germans.

Florian Koch and Cameron Hunt (14 each) scored the most points for Würzburg.

After a balanced first half, the Weißenfels team ensured clear conditions between the 27th and 31st minute with a 13-0 run from 53:53 to 66:53.

After that, thanks to their superiority under the baskets (44:29 rebounds), the home side was no longer in trouble.
