Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Deputy Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Joachim Stamp, described the mask deals by Union politicians as "disgusting".

It would be an important sign if "those who cashed in there" donated the corresponding amounts for charitable purposes, said the FDP politician of the "Neue Westfälische" (Tuesday).

The two main actors in the affair of politicians with corona masks, the Mannheim CDU member of the Bundestag Nikolas Löbel and his CSU colleague Georg Nüßlein, left their party on Monday.

Löbel also immediately withdrew from parliament.

Stamp also criticized the communication of Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) in the Corona crisis.

He believes that a lot of trust has been lost through Spahn's communication.
