Simrishamn is the municipality in Skåne that has the highest proportion of vaccinated, both in terms of those who received their first dose and those who have been fully vaccinated after receiving both doses of vaccine.

In the municipality, 10.7 percent of the inhabitants have received a first injection.

6.9 percent have received both injections and are thus fully vaccinated against covid-19.

Explained by a high proportion of older residents

According to Region Skåne, the explanation lies in how many older people live in the municipality: a large proportion of older people means more vaccinated compared to municipalities with a younger population, as the oldest are prioritized.

Simrishamn has a population where 31 percent are over 70 years old, which can be compared with the Skåne average which is 19 percent.

Malmö has the youngest population: only 14 percent are over 70 years old, which can be seen in the statistics on the proportion of vaccinated: the lowest in Skåne with 5.5 percent who received a first injection.

Of the Scanians who are 90 years or older, 63.6 percent have now received their first dose of vaccine.

One third of everyone in the age group is fully vaccinated.

Of the slightly younger ones - the group from Skåne between the ages of 80 and 89 - a quarter have received their first dose of vaccine.
