Graefenhainichen (dpa / sa) - The open-air museum "Ferropolis - City made of iron" with large equipment from the opencast mine will be open to visitors again from next Friday.

"Mining culture experiences are finally possible again with walks on the peninsula in the middle of the Gremminer See", explained Thies Schröder, managing director of Ferropolis gGmbH, on Tuesday in Graefenhainichen.

Interested parties should book tickets on the institution's website before visiting.

As it was said, group tours could not be offered at first.

The catering trade will also remain closed for the time being for reasons of hygiene.

Visitors should adhere to the general recommendations and rules of conduct for the containment of infections, such as wearing a face mask and keeping a safe distance.
