Ludwigsburg (AP) - The Niners Chemnitz suffered a significant defeat in a catch-up game in the basketball Bundesliga.

The team of coach Rodrigo Pastore lost on Tuesday evening at table leaders MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg with 60:96 (36:61).

The best thrower from Chemnitz was Terrell Harris with 18 points.

With 14 points, the Saxons are in 13th place in the table.

The Niners had traveled to Ludwigsburg with a rump squad.

In addition to the long-term injured Filip Stanic, Marcus Thornton, Jan Niklas Wimberg, Isiaha Mike and Virgil Matthews were also not available.

Newcomer Johnathan Williams was part of the squad for the first time and ended up with five points on his BBL debut.

The Pastore team delivered a good fighting performance over long stretches of the first half and stayed within striking distance for a long time.

Only in the final phase of the second quarter did the Ludwigsburg show their qualities and ensured a clear break lead with a 19-0 run.
