It was on January 22 that 31 employees at corona-IVA in Piteå were vaccinated with leftover doses of Phizer's vaccine, which was then specialized for those over 65 years of age.

The Norrbotten region then issued a press release in which they blamed the employees and wrote that they had taken the vaccine despite the boss saying no.

Quarrels flared up after the press release

But according to the staff at IVA, and one of those who performed the vaccination itself, everything was approved, and open, because the vaccine from the municipality would otherwise be thrown away the next morning.

A quarrel broke out which ended with the Norrbotten Region apologizing for how they expressed themselves.

Since then, the question has been whether the staff will receive their second dose of the vaccine, and thus full good protection.

No need to save on doses

Now the Norrbotten Region, something that NSD was the first to report on, announces that the staff will receive their second dose shortly.

The reason is that the Norrbotten Region does not need to save on its doses as there have been new findings about the various vaccines which show that everyone provides equal protection, regardless of age.

- Last week we learned that the Pfizer vaccine can be given to everyone, no matter how old you are, and that we no longer need to give it to the elderly population, says communicator Emma Bergström Wuolo.
