Kornwestheim (dpa / lsw) - Accompanied by further warning strikes, collective bargaining for the metal and electrical industry in the southwest is entering the next round.

The employer and the union will meet at noon today (12 noon) in Kornwestheim near Stuttgart.

The first three meetings hadn't brought any rapprochement, now it's round four.

IG Metall is demanding, among other things, four percent more money - either in the form of wage increases or as at least partial compensation if a company reduces working hours in a crisis.

The employers' association Südwestmetall rejects this and instead calls for special collective bargaining benefits to be cut.

The union has been calling for warning strikes since last Tuesday and wants to do so in parallel with the negotiations.

A large “digital warning strike” is also planned for Friday.

The fact that this is already being planned, although it is still unclear what the negotiations will bring, caused harsh criticism from employers.
