SVT Nyheter Sörmland has previously reported that the municipality of Nyköping is discussing the issue of the municipality entering as a guarantor so that Skavsta can take out a bank loan.
Urban Granström (S), chairman of the municipal board in Nyköping, says that he is not surprised by the minister's announcement.
- It was not unexpected but I think there are gaps in that reasoning.
The commercial pays for the socially important air transports, but during the pandemic the airport is not running and then the state does not pay what it costs to have an airport open, Granström says.

He calls for more support for airports from the government during the pandemic.
- The state needs to take greater responsibility and this also applies to Skavsta.
