Harburg (dpa) - On Tuesday morning, the police searched twelve residential and commercial properties for serious gang theft of cigarettes at the same time with a large number of more than 200 officers in the Seevetal area and in Hamburg, Buchholz and Winsen (Luhe).

The Harburg police station implemented the search warrants requested by the Stade public prosecutor, according to a statement.

The background is a theft that was committed on the night of January 14th in a supermarket central warehouse in Stelle.

Four men had looted various cigarette boxes with a truck.

Six men, aged 24, 24, 28, 28, 32 and 61 years of age, were suspected of having planned the theft as a gang and of having part of the loot on the market.

A suspect is suspected of having abused his employment relationship to allow access to the camp.

Witnesses who can provide information about the men or the truck should report to the police in Winsen on 04171 7960.

The police released photos from the video surveillance system to clarify the identity.
