09 March 2021 A decision on new closures will not be made shortly.

This is what emerges after various rumors about new closures and restrictions.

In a long meeting of the Scientific Technical Committee, which lasted more than three hours, a series of measures were on the table.

Among the hypotheses, an automatic red zone as soon as the threshold of 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants is exceeded in a week and red weekends throughout Italy as during the Christmas holidays.

Experts would have said "no" to a national lockdown.

The news, this, also confirmed by Palazzo Chigi.

The passage in the red zone (not only closed schools), recommended the CTS, must be automatic and not at the discretion of the governor as the Dpcm now provides. But there is currently no government decision on these hypotheses nor is it expected for the next few hours.
