Cologne (dpa) - «Tagesschau» spokeswoman Judith Rakers has been exposed as a plush chick in the ProSieben show «The Masked Singer».
The 45-year-old pulled the mask off her face on Tuesday evening, in which she had taken part in the show undetected.
Since the viewers gave her too few votes, the «Tagesschau» spokeswoman had to reveal her true identity.
«It was madness.
It was a trip to another world, ”said Rakers, who had sung on the show with a disguised beeping voice.
"I always felt a bit sorry for the audience who had to listen to it."
Although the chick skin was in the characteristic “Tagesschau” blue, no member of the advice team had given Rakers a thought.
Model Lena Gercke (33) guessed actress Jella Haase (28), presenter Ruth Moschner (44) threw the name of comedian Annette Frier (47) into the ring.
Musician Rea Garvey, who had had a little squabble with the chick in the past few weeks, said to Rakers: "I really wouldn't have thought you could do that."
The 47-year-old had guessed singer Anna Loos (50).

Rakers said the squeaky singing was part of the cover-up - her normal voice she was relatively familiar with from the “Tagesschau”.
“That's roughly the voice I use to speak to my animals,” she explained.
Participation in "The Masked Singer" was exciting.
Sometimes she spoke the news of the «Tagesschau» again the next day immediately after the shows.
In “The Masked Singer”, well-known people sing under elaborate costumes and try to disguise their true identity.
