Kiel (AP) - Oskar Sunnefeldt will leave the handball record champion THW Kiel after his contract expires at the end of the season.

As the Kieler announced on Monday, the Swedish backcourt player will join Bundesliga rivals SC DHfK Leipzig in the summer.

"We are happy that we were able to win Oskar after Nikola Bilyk's long-term failure and that he was spontaneously ready to support us," said managing director Viktor Szilagyi.

"He integrated quickly and fulfilled the expectations placed on him."

The 22-year-old Swede came to Kiel from the Danish first division club SonderjyskE in October.

He won the Champions League with THW in December and the silver medal with Sweden at the World Cup in January in Egypt.

«I will do everything in the next few months to achieve our goals with this great team.

Only then does a new, exciting section begin for me. "
