The news was illustrated today in Rome Termini by the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of FS Italiane, Gianfranco Battisti.

Present were the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, the Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio, the President of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti and the National President of the Italian Red Cross Francesco Rocca.



Hope: soon more doses and administration points

"The symbolic departure of this train will be an example, an important model in more of a National Health Service that goes where it is needed," said Speranza.

train is a project born from the collaboration between the FS Italiane Group, the Department of Civil Protection and the Regional Emergency Emergency Agency of Lombardy.

The convoy is equipped with dedicated medical personnel in carriages equipped with specific medical equipment and can be made available for the management of national or international emergencies. 



The train can have the function of transporting patients to other areas of Italy or abroad to relieve the pressure on hospitals, as well as represent an integration to the local health service for the management of emergencies, in case of use as a Medical Post. Advanced. 



First railway hub for vaccinations


Roma Termini, on the other hand, is the first Italian railway hub in which, thanks to the collaboration between the Lazio Region, the Italian Red Cross and the FS Italiane Group, it will be possible to carry out vaccinations, according to the provisions of the National Strategic Plan for Vaccination . 



The facility, set up in an area of ​​the FS Italiane Group in Piazza dei Cinquecento, is equipped with 21 vaccination stations, two of which are dedicated to people with disabilities.

At full capacity, 1,500 vaccinations per day are planned.
