Oberstdorf (dpa) - Norway's cross-country skier, a whiz kid from Austria in combination and ski jumper Karl Geiger at his home game shaped the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf.

A look at the stars of the past two weeks.

THERESE JOHAUG (32 YEARS OLD, CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING, NORWAY)

With her four gold medals around her neck, the petite Therese Johaug stood in the outrun of the Schattenbergschanze and was happy about a perfect world championship in the midst of the colorful laser show.

The Norwegian dominated the cross-country races in Ried and won the world championship title in all of her starts.

“It's just a league of its own,” said Germany's best World Cup starter Laura Gimmler.

This was proven by over two and a half minutes ahead of the first pursuer in the 30-kilometer race.

KARL GEIGER (28, SKI JUMPING, GERMANY)

2x gold, 1x silver, 1x bronze

On the hills of his youth there was a very special incentive for Karl Geiger to reach for the World Championship medals: His wife Franziska was responsible for the award ceremonies as a volunteer.

So the Allgäu took four chances four times and won twice gold in the team and mixed as well as silver and bronze in the two singles.

“I've never been allowed to train such an athlete who has such mental strength.

He's an incredible athlete, ”praised head coach Stefan Horngacher.

JOHANNES LAMPARTER (19, COMBINATION, AUSTRIA)

2x gold, 1x bronze

First junior world champion - and three weeks later the champion among the big ones: super youngster Johannes Lamparter has finally made it into the circle of outstanding combiners in the championship fights in Allgäu.

It was impressive how he left Dominator Jarl Magnus Riiber behind not only in the individual but also in the team sprint.

"Incredible.

It feels great to be able to call myself double world champion, ”said Lamparter.

JOHANNES KLÄBO (24, CROSS-COUNTRY, NORWAY)

3x gold

"A bastard in front of the gentleman" is Johannes Kläbo, said Germany's team boss Peter Schlickenrieder in full recognition after his tactical masterpiece in the relay.

If Kläbo is allowed to use his sprint strength in the final of a race, he is actually unbeatable.

There was gold in the sprint, team sprint and relay, and at the end of the 50 kilometers, his fourth title was retrospectively revoked after he did not stay on track on the home straight and hindered rival Bolshunov.

JARL MAGNUS RIIBER (23, COMBINATION, NORWAY)

2x gold, 2x silver

Johannes Rydzek missed the quadruple coup, but won four medals with ease: Jarl Magnus Riiber lived up to his exceptional position and was also able to call up his best performance at the season highlight.

After a perfect first week with two golds, it was enough from the large hill to two silver medals, because the furious Austrian Lamparter jumped outstandingly and could not be stopped on the cross-country ski run.

ALEXANDER BOLSHUNOV (24, CROSS-COUNTRY, RUSSIAN SKI ASSOCIATION)

1x gold, 2x silver, 1x bronze

While Bolschunov was still in conversation before the World Cup because of his rowdy body check in the World Cup, he showed one of the most remarkable individual achievements of an athlete in Oberstdorf.

In the skiathlon over 30 kilometers, the Russian took on five strong Norwegians - and left one after the other.

Silver in the relay and bronze in the team sprint completed the medal set of the all-starter, who looked bent over the long distance to the end of silver.
