Hanover (dpa / lni) - In the corona pandemic, psychotherapists in Lower Saxony have to deal with far more patients than they can care for.

The demand has increased significantly, but there are no figures for Lower Saxony, said Roman Rudyk, President of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Psychotherapists.

Psychotherapists can "usually" no longer offer therapy places to adult patients, the situation is somewhat better for children and adolescents.

According to nationwide figures from the German Association of Psychotherapists, the demand for therapies in the pandemic rose by 40 percent, and among child and youth therapists by 60 percent.
