Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak said that the Houthis had met US officials directly more than once.

But he stressed in an interview with Al-Jazeera on the Without Borders program that there is no special American path to solve the Yemeni crisis, but rather a path to support the UN special envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.

This comes amid intense fighting in the Marib Governorate, where the Houthis are launching an offensive from 3 axes.

Bin Mubarak added that the Yemeni file and the human suffering in Yemen cannot be linked to the issues of the Iranian nuclear file.

Commenting on the statements of the Yemeni Foreign Minister regarding direct contact between the Houthis and US officials in the era of former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama, the Undersecretary of the Information Ministry of the Houthis, Nasreddin Amer, considered that such dialogues could take place as talks with an enemy, as he put it.

The Undersecretary of the Information Ministry of the Houthis accused the Saudi-Emirati coalition of escalation and demanded that Washington pressure it to stop the war.

On the other hand, State Department spokesman Ned Price renewed his call for the Houthis to show their willingness to engage in a political process to achieve peace in Yemen.

Price considered the Houthi attacks as not the work of a group serious about peace, and described the attacks as "unacceptable" and endangering civilians.

Battles for Marib

These statements coincide amid raging battles in the Marib governorate, where the Houthis are launching a major attack, and in this context Houthi media said that the Saudi-Emirati coalition launched 23 raids on sites in Marib during the past 24 hours.

For his part, the governor of Marib, Sultan Al-Arada, said that the Houthis are launching a comprehensive attack on the city of Marib, the center of the governorate, from 3 axes, indicating that government forces are responding to the attack, backed by tribesmen and coalition fighters.

The governor explained, in a video conference, that the coalition fighters made a difference in the battles, after the Houthis showed superiority through heavy and armored vehicles.

The Yemeni official pointed out that the Houthis took advantage of Saudi Arabia's withdrawal of its forces from Marib, and the UAE's withdrawal of the Patriot air defense system.

To bomb the city with ballistic missiles.

Regarding the humanitarian situation, the governor of Marib warned that the fighting has displaced thousands in addition to more than two million displaced people who are already settling in the governorate.
