Berlin (dpa) - Sami Khedira has been warned by the control committee of the German Football Association for violating the Corona hygiene rules.

The currently injured ex-world champion sat in the stands for a long time during the Bundesliga match between Hertha BSC and FC Augsburg (2-1) on Saturday without the mandatory mouth and nose protection.

This is proven by TV recordings.

In the case of recurrence, the 33-year-old must expect charges to be brought before the DFB sports court, the DFB announced on Monday.

Khedira was unable to participate in the game due to a muscle injury to her left calf.

His coach Pal Dardai hopes on Tuesday, after consulting the midfielder and the doctors, to find out more precisely when Khedira can start training again.

Initially, the Berlin Bundesliga club had only announced the failure of Khedira for the Augsburg game.

On Sunday, Dardai was not yet optimistic.

“It's difficult to say something.

You have to be careful with anything muscle-related.

We shouldn't give false hope, ”said the Hertha coach about Khedira's comeback plans.
