Meppen (dpa / lni) - The Wolfsburg soccer women have clearly won the Lower Saxony duel at SV Meppen.

The German champions prevailed 4-0 (0-0) away from the Bundesliga promoted team on Sunday.

Rebecka Blomqvist (19th minute), Alexandra Popp (33rd), Dominique Janssen (66th / penalty) and Ewa Pajor (85th) scored the goals for VfL.

Pajor in particular was delighted with her first goal after a six-month injury break.

In the table, the Wolfsburg women are second on the heels of the league leaders Bayern Munich.

Bayern won 5-1 at SC Freiburg and are still five points ahead of Wolfsburg.

Promoted Meppen remains third from bottom in the relegation battle.
