Wernigerode (dpa / sa) - Wernigerode has adapted its 18th museum spring to the pandemic situation and relies on a mix of analog and digital offers.

From March 19 to 21, the city's museums would be bundled and - unlike in previous years - available for several days, the city announced on Saturday.

Among other things, the Brockenhaus on the 1141 meter high Harzgifel, the Harz Museum and the Museum of Wernigerode Castle will be there.

Due to the corona pandemic, the international Johannes Brahms Choir Festival planned for the summer, to which choirs from all over the world have been traveling to Wernigerode every two years since 1999, cannot be realized.

In 2019 17 choirs came, for example from Bolivia, Kenya and Sweden.

The cancellation of the festival is "painful, but unfortunately inevitable."

City and organizers were now looking forward to 2023, it said.
