Chemnitz / Berlin (dpa / sn) - The weekly corona incidence has risen again in Saxony.
On Sunday, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in Berlin reported the value with almost 82 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week - after 78 the day before.
However, only two districts were above the critical 100 mark: the Vogtlandkreis (243) and the Northern Saxony district (112).
In the Erzgebirge the incidence fell to 99. The incidence of infections is lowest in Leipzig with a 7-day incidence of 49.
A total of 574 new corona infections from Saxony and three further deaths were reported to the RKI by Sunday morning (as of 3:11 a.m.).
The total number since the outbreak of the pandemic a good year ago has risen to almost 198,000 confirmed infections and 7,986 people who have died in connection with a corona infection.
Nationwide, Saxony is still one of the countries with the highest infection rate - on a par with Saxony-Anhalt and behind Thuringia.
In Germany, the incidence value is currently around 66.
