Two men, of whom no further information has emerged, have died while climbing in the Teide National Park, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The event occurred around 3.30 pm, when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert informing of the location of two climbers in an area of ​​difficult access in the Roque de la Catedral.

The Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources and a rescue helicopter and a ground unit from the GES, firefighters, Red Cross, Civil Guard, Local Police and National Park personnel came to the place.

Members of the Red Cross ERIE arrived at the scene of the incident and confirmed that the two climbers were deceased.

The Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (GREIM) of the Civil Guard took charge of the judicial proceedings.
