Agents of the National Police have intercepted a drone that was flying over the Congress of Deputies and other strategic buildings and have sanctioned its pilot
for failing to comply with airport security and navigation regulations
, the Higher Headquarters of the Madrid Police reported this Sunday in a release.
The pilot is a 33-year-old German who believed that the drone could fly and record here.
The events occurred at 5 p.m. this Saturday
when the drone detection alert system at CIMACC 091 alerted to the flight of a drone over strategic infrastructures such as the Congress of Deputies, Ministry of Health, Prado Museum.
Agents from the Citizen Attention Groups (GAC) traveled to the place and after developing a search device, they
located the pilot in the Plaza de Cristina when the aircraft was landing
.
After intervening the drone,
the agents proposed to sanction the male for flying over the device in a restricted area
, lacking documentation and authorization, as well as lacking both the aircraft and the control unit identification plates.
