Winterberg (dpa / lnw) - The ski lift operators in Winterberg in North Rhine-Westphalia are frustrated: Their lifts have to remain closed in the corona pandemic, while in Willingen, Hesse, just a few kilometers away, you can ski from Monday.

"That is of course incomprehensible," says a press spokeswoman for the Sauerland winter sports arena.

The North Rhine-Westphalian ski lift operators had turned to the state government and were now hoping for a positive reaction in the coming week.

There is enough snow: According to the spokeswoman, a lot of snow has been produced in the ski area over the past cold weeks.

The Willingen ski area in Hesse, which is only a few kilometers away, does not expect a large rush on the first day of opening, according to the press spokeswoman.

Tickets can only be purchased online and there is a limited number of tickets.
