Heiligenhaus (dpa / lnw) - The fire brigade in Heiligenhaus rescued five people and a baby from a burning apartment building.
The residents could not leave the house on their own due to smoke in the stairwell, the police said on Sunday.
Four residents were brought to safety via the turntable ladder from their balconies.
Mother and child came down a portable ladder through a window, reports a press spokesman.
One person was rushed to hospital with injuries and two others were taken to be checked.
According to the fire brigade, the fire broke out in a ground floor apartment during the night for a previously unknown cause.
