Munich (dpa) - Thomas Müller is open to a return to the German national soccer team and would be happy to participate in the EM in the summer.

“I'm looking confidently into the next few weeks and months and of course I will concentrate fully on the performances here at FC Bayern.

I am certainly open to what comes next, "said the Bayern Munich attacker in the ZDF's" current sports studio ".

He reaffirmed what he had already said after the 4-2 win against Borussia Dortmund at Sky and emphasized his "great desire to fight for the title if I may".

National coach Joachim Löw had previously stated that he wanted to make a decision in May as planned.

The EM is "a competition of its own, and of course it is our job to bring the best players out there and the best team in order to guarantee the greatest possible success".

Löw retired 2014 world champions Müller (31), Mats Hummels (32) and Jérôme Boateng (32) from the national team in spring 2019.

“Now we have raised the issue from both sides that anything is possible.

Accordingly, we can also tick it off, ”said Müller on ZDF late on Saturday evening.
