Mainz (dpa / lrs) - In Rhineland-Palatinate, citizens can be tested for the corona virus free of charge with a rapid antigen test from this Monday.

More than 300 of the 450 reported test sites are ready to go, according to the State Office for Social Affairs, Youth and Care.

Among them are 88 pharmacies and medical practices and a large part of the municipal test centers.

The tests should be carried out on site with the help of trained personnel.

According to the state office, around 900 testers had been trained by Friday evening, and by Tuesday evening there should be 3,700.

Every citizen should be able to be tested for free at least once a week.
