Rostock (dpa / mv) - The demand for real estate is high despite the corona pandemic.

At least that is what the result of the spring auction of Norddeutsche Grundstücksauktionen AG on Saturday suggests.

"The pressure to buy is so enormous that the objects were torn from our hands," said auctioneer Kai Rocholl on Sunday.

A total of 27 properties from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony were auctioned for a total of five million euros.

500 bidders from all over Germany took part in the auction.

The highest auction proceeds were achieved for a residential and commercial building in the seaside resort of Warnemünde.

The property with a restaurant and eight holiday apartments changed hands for 2.3 million euros.

A single-family house in Hamburg-Cranz brought in 320,000 euros.

For a listed, former lock keeper's house in Wolfsburg-Sülfeld (Lower Saxony), the bidders increased from 95,000 euros to 223,000 euros.

According to its own information, Norddeutsche Grundstücksauktionen AG only auctions properties that were offered by their owners on a voluntary basis.
