The vaccination race continues.

There was a special operation in Ile-de-France this weekend, around a hundred centers remain open on Saturday and Sunday.

The goal is to give a boost and sell more than 50,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine in two days.

It is in a gymnasium in Issy-les-Moulineaux, in the Paris suburbs, that the 504 patients who will be able to be vaccinated today are welcomed.

A 78-year-old patient was on the waiting list, she was contacted again yesterday: “

Fifteen injections per hour

After completing a questionnaire, patients are seen by a doctor.

They then go to a box to receive their injection.

There is space, we are not on top of each other.

No problem

”.

At the rate of about fifteen injections per hour, this vaccination weekend is a real logistical challenge for the nursing staff.

Catherine Rigal is responsible for the Issy-les-Moulineaux center: “ 

We knew Thursday evening that we were going to have this weekend endowment and above all I had to find the staff available.

It is necessary that all the doses leave since the expiry goes until Monday morning.

So, it is absolutely necessary to vaccinate 504 people this weekend

”.

According to the Regional Health Agency, caregivers will surely have to keep this pace in the coming months.

This weekend, twelve new vaccination centers opened their doors in the Paris region.
