The government is currently considering how to set up a "health pass".

If the idea is still in its infancy, the executive wants to show that it anticipates the post-crisis period.

The idea of conditioning access to certain places only to vaccinated people is ruled out, at least initially.

The return to a more normal life could begin by mid-April according to the government.

And one of the ways to get there is that of a "health pass", as is the practice for example in Israel.

The president raised the idea last week after a meeting with EU leaders over borders.

And the government is considering its implementation at the national level to allow access to restaurants and cultural and sporting places despite the Covid.

An interministerial working meeting was held on Wednesday evening on this subject to discuss the contours it could take.

And the idea of integrating vaccination is currently excluded.

A still embryonic project

This "health pass" would be a digital tool to support the return to a more normal life.

It could include a recent negative PCR test and we also mention a QR code linked to the Tousanticovid app that is scanned before entering a public place, such as a restaurant or a stadium, in order to trace contact cases if necessary. .

However, nothing is yet decided and the idea remains in an embryonic state, recalls a close friend of Emmanuel Macron.

Some would like to see a vaccination certificate there but the hypothesis does not seem relevant.

At the Elysee Palace, they refuse to allow access to public places to be subject to vaccination.

However, it is not excluded that it is integrated in a second step.

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> Covid-19: is there really a risk of contamination outside?

> Coronavirus: why can a PCR test be positive one month after infection?

> Are private parties really prohibited with the curfew?

> The English variant would cause slightly different symptoms

> Audio, webcams ... When technology adapts to teleworking

This measure would also raise other ethical and legal questions around the protection of personal data.

In Olivier Véran's entourage, it is said that there is nothing insurmountable.

The executive is convinced that such a pass would be well received by the French.

In any case, starting to talk about it allows the government to show that it is not late and that it is already anticipating post-crisis management.
