Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - The Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven have finished the successful series of Grizzlys Wolfsburg in the German Ice Hockey League.

After nine wins in a row, the Lower Saxony lost this northern duel 3: 4 (0: 1, 2: 2, 0: 1) on Sunday evening.

With this success, the Bremerhaven-based team pushed their northern rivals back from second place in the DEL northern group.

Luca Gläser put Bremerhaven in the lead in the 16th minute.

After the equalization by Pekka Jormakka (30th), the hosts moved away with Miha Verlic (33rd) and Niklas Andersen (36th) in less than three minutes to 3-1.

Spencer Machacek gave the grizzlies hope again in the 39th minute.

But in the last third the Wolfsburg were too harmless and again conceded a quick fourth goal from Andersen (42nd).

The 3: 4 by Sebastian Furchner only fell 17 seconds before the end (60th).
