Berlin (dpa / bb) - Alba Berlin celebrated an important away win in the basketball Bundesliga and remains the first pursuer of table leaders Ludwigsburg.

On Sunday evening the Berliners won after an increase in performance in the second half at ratiopharm Ulm with 84:76 (38:46).

The best throwers from Berlin were the strong Maodo Lo with 19 and Luke Sikma with 13 points.

New signing Christ Koumadje was not yet in the Alba squad.

For the Berliners it was the fifth game in just ten days.

After two games in Russia, the team traveled straight to Ulm.

So the German master looked quite tired at first.

While the rested Ulmer hit almost every litter in the first quarter, the Berliners gave too many litters.

In addition, they were often a step too late.

After a 5-2 lead, they trailed behind.

In the second quarter, however, the hosts' throwing quota went down and Alba came up to one point again (34:35).

But the Berliners continued to struggle and rarely found their rhythm.

They also allowed the hosts to have too many rebounds under their own basket.

So the Ulm team got new litter chances again and again and extended the lead until the break.

After the break, Alba acted much more focused.

Especially on the defensive they were now there and hardly let Ulm take easy throws.

After a 14-2 run at the end of the third quarter, they took the lead back.

Then the Berliners acted very confidently and didn't let anything burn.
