"The mayor is going to cut off your head", "the municipality is going to burn you".

After the discovery of offensive tags threatening the mayor and the police with death on public buildings in Rillieux-la-Pape, near Lyon, a suspect was arrested in flagrante delicto, we learned this Sunday from the police.

Saturday, the day after urban violence, the LR mayor of the city Alexandre Vincendet had denounced on social networks the degradation of the school and the House for all, in the Alagniers district, and offensive inscriptions discovered on the buildings.

"After the fires of Rilliards vehicles and street furniture as well as the paving of a bus last night, it is today municipal equipment for the use of the inhabitants which has been the target of these delinquents", had regretted the mayor on his Facebook page.

Urban violence after a young person's accident

The investigation launched on Saturday allowed the arrest, in flagrante delicto, of a suspect, placed in custody, said the national police this Sunday morning on Twitter.

The investigations are continuing in a context marked by strong tensions and urban violence in several sectors of the Lyon metropolis.

Events following the scooter accident of a 13-year-old youngster in La Duchère, in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon, for which some residents accuse the police of being responsible.

Friday, the Lyon public prosecutor's office announced the opening of an investigation entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police, in a "concern for transparency and impartiality" on the circumstances of this accident in which the teenager, in coma, was seriously injured.

Thursday evening, urban violence had broken out in La Duchère, followed by similar events on Friday in Rillieux-la-Pape and then on Saturday evening in Bron.

Several people have been arrested in connection with these excesses.
