Pope Francis met Ayatollah Ali Sistani on Saturday morning and continues his trip to Iraq.
Monsignor Pascal Gollnisch, director of L'Œuvre d'Orient and priest of the diocese of Paris, is present at his side during this trip.

A historic meeting took place on Saturday morning in Iraq between Pope Francis and Ayatollah Ali Sistani.
Monsignor Pascal Gollnisch, director of L'Œuvre d'Orient and priest of the diocese of Paris, is present alongside the Pope during his visit to Iraq.
He was the guest of Europe at noon on Saturday.
He reaffirmed that the Pope wants to send a message of "peace" to all Iraqis regardless of their faith.
"These are words of respect from the Pope for all Iraqis. He does not come to support Christians alongside Muslims or even less against Muslims," Monsignor Gollnisch assured.
