Brussels wants to ensure that European factories can run at full capacity for the production of anti-Covid vaccines.

The European Union wants to vaccinate all Europeans by the end of the summer and produce 2 to 3 billion vaccines per year by the end of the year.

Except that for certain elements of these vaccines, Europe depends on the United States which strictly regulates the export of all the components.

Among the components concerned are, for example, syringes, vials or bags intended for the tanks.

A meeting should take place on Monday between the European Commissioner for the Internal Market Thierry Breton and Jeff Zients, in charge of the fight against Covid-19 at the White House.

The Europeans' objective is to work in a coordinated manner with the American administration and to anticipate that there is no blockage in the vaccine production chain.
