Pakistani military killed 8 terrorists in anti-terrorism operations
Xinhua News Agency, Islamabad, March 6 (Reporter Li Hao) The Pakistani military said on the 6th that Pakistani security forces launched two counter-terrorism operations in North Waziristan in the northwest, killing eight terrorists.
The Information Bureau of Pakistan’s Tri-Services said in a statement that the Pakistani security forces launched operations against terrorist hideouts in two areas of North Waziristan and killed eight terrorists, including three commanders, in the exchange of fire.
The statement said that security forces found a large number of weapons in terrorist hiding places.
The statement did not mention the specific time of the two counter-terrorism operations.
The statement stated that these terrorists have continuously participated in terrorist activities against Pakistani security forces, law enforcement agencies and local people since 2009, and recruited members there.
The North Waziristan region of Pakistan borders Afghanistan and is often used as a hiding place by terrorists.
