Northern SPD wants to lead coalition with the Greens

Kiel (dpa / lno) - Schleswig-Holstein's SPD is hoping for joint governments with the Greens as junior partners after the next federal and state elections.

State chairwoman Serpil Midyatli made this clear on Saturday at a digital small party conference.

She is very, very confident about the general election in September.

This is far from being decided, even if everyone is now talking black and green.

A social, digital and climate-friendly policy only exists in the alliance of the SPD and the Greens, said Midyatli.

The SPD also wants to lead such an alliance in Schleswig-Holstein.

"We really cannot imagine it the other way around."
